Lil' Moe, an English Bulldog, propels himself whilst riding a skateboard at the Bogert Park pavillion in Bozeman, Montana. Lil' Moe's owner, Kari Nelson, said she taught him to ride by putting cookies on the skateboard. "It's his exercise," she said. "He doesn't fetch, but he loves to skate."

At Marwell zoo in Hampshire zoo keepers have stepped in to help Ralph for the second year running. He is a bald penguin, and survives the summer months outdoors. Ralph, aged ten, has been given a snazzier version of last year's wetsuit. This new and improved wetsuit, still protects his pink skin from the risk of sunburn, but comes with extra features including Velcro for even more flexibility and ease of fitting, plus his name has been emblazoned down the side

Blue Reef Aquarium in Portsmouth has adopted four albino Chinese soft-shelled turtles that were donated to them by a student when she left university. The turtles have extremely long necks and tube-like nostrils which they use like a snorkel

Trainer Alex Larenty plays with Inka the lioness and Latatsi the lion at the Lion Park in Johannesburg. Alex, 50, originally from Chipping Norton emigrated to South Africa, and is able to get incredibly close to the big cats.  Having reared many from birth, he is able safely to walk into the middle of the pride and play games while surrounded by the massive predators. While a stranger trying the same thing would end up as lunch for the animals, Alex uses his unique relationship to get close to the big cats he loves
